Warm & Wooly Fall Retreat

Last week we opened registration for our fall retreat!! We have put a lot of thought into the details and are so excited to be able to host this event. All of the information can be found on our website (HERE), but here are the highlights:

Who: 19 more fiber enthusiasts! 

What: 3 nights in a historic mansion, 5 catered meals, and continental breakfast. Gentle itinerary including a private tour of the mansion next door, 30 min massages, ice cream social and sip and stitch night

When: Sunday, September 15th (4pm) - Wednesday, September 18th (10am)

Where: Linden Hill Historic Estate in Little Falls, MN

Cost: Rooms remaining range from $705-$905

Cocoknits June Sweaters

Our next Cocoknits order is on the way with lots of wonderful tools! Cocoknits tools are thoughtfully designed with the Cocoknits sweater method in mind. 

While sweaters aren't the first project you might think to make in June, the Eva cardigan and the relaxed June tee might change your mind! These designs are cool and breathable and perfect for summer knitting. Both patterns are available for purchase in store.

Summer Fiber Camp!

A Celebration of Fiber Arts

Details to Remember for Kids:

• Max of 8 students per week
• Ages 7-14
• Register for AM, PM or full days
• Two weeks to choose from, each featuring different fiber arts
• Cost covers all required materials for camp projects ($375 for full days, $190 for half days)
• Registration closes on June 8th

• Max of 12 students
• Ages 18+
• Registration currently available for full days, we will offer "a la carte" registration next week!
• Cost covers all required materials for camp projects as well as catered lunch each day ($500 for the full week)

Party at the Yarn Shop!

Our pizza party at the yarn shop was a blast! Thank you to everyone that joined us for community crafting time. We had three fabulous giveaways, each featuring different yarns. Goody bags included a skein of Alba Aran yarn, a knit or crochet hat pattern, highlighter tape and tickets for giveaways! If you missed it, we hope to see you at one of our many upcoming events!

Introducing the latest additions at Warm and Wooly:

Addi Flexiflips

Looking for an alternative to DPNs? Try Addi Flexiflips! These needles come in a set of three with 3.5in tips and a 1in cord to act as flexible double pointed needles. Perfect for any small circumference project like socks, cuffs, hats and any other small project worked in the round. Easy to use, stitches are simply distributed over two needles, and then knit with the third - resulting in only two needle changes per row.

We are stocking them in sizes US 0 - US 6. If you'd like a larger size, contact the shop to place an order!

Zauberball Cotton & Edition 3

Introducing our first Schoppel yarns: Zauberball Cotton and Edition 3. Zauberball Cotton is our first non-wool fingering weight yarn in the shop. It is 100% long staple greek cotton. Available in 6 self-striping colors, it's perfect for all of your summer projects! Edition 3 is a sport weight 100% superwash wool yarn with slow gradual color changes. This yarn would be great for color-work projects!

Kitchener Stitch Zipper Pouch

Dual purpose, these zippered pouches are great for storing small projects like socks or holding your needles and notions on the go. The outside of the pouch includes instructions for the Kitchener Stitch, so you won't have to worry about finishing your project if you're in a spot without wifi!

To accommodate a variety of skill levels, our kid's classes can be signed up for one week at a time. This Thursday is our last kids class until we break for summer!

Tunisian 201: Listopad Stole

Wednesday, May 29th, June 12th & 26th 5:30pm-7:30pm
(3 Sessions)

Advance your Tunisian crochet skills with this gorgeous wrap! This piece will be the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe. As this is a larger project made with a thinner yarn, classes are spaced out every other week to allow plenty of time to finish each section.

Acid Dye Workshop

Crochet 301: Block of the Month

(1 Session)

Our block for the month of June is: FILET CROCHET! Filet crochet is a technique used in projects like the Hotel of Bees Shawl and the Zig-Zag-Zummer top. Even if you aren't doing all 12 blocks to make a blanket, you're welcome to take this class to learn this fun technique!

Cascade Special Events

Shannon, the owner of Cascade Yarns, will be coming to host a yarn tasting and a color theory class! Sign up for one or both and join us for a fun day of playing with yarn.

Tunisian 201: Charming Trio

Thursday, June 27th

6pm-8pm

(1 Session)

Build on your Tunisian crochet skills with the charming trio! The pattern includes instructions to make an oversized towel, a matching washcloth, and a double thick potholder. Choose one of the three to work on during class! All three patterns will teach the Tunisian crochet brick stitch.

Crochet 201: Granny Square Chicken

If you've never made a granny square, this is a fun way to learn! In this two part class you will learn how to make a floral granny square, how to seam your squares together, and how to crochet the additional pieces to make your chicken. 

Can't make it to class? We will have kits available this weekend for these adorable chickens!

Current and Finished Projects 

Evette and I both finished a granny square chicken!! These were so fun to make and worked up quickly!

Lochlan brought in her finished "No Frills Sweater" and it's GORGEOUS!! She used Lana Gatto Mohair Royal paired with Cascade Heritage. 

Shelly has been working on this sweater using our custom Warm and Wooly color, "Welcome Home", dyed by Cashmere and Coconuts. This color is absolutely fabulous and I can't wait to see the finished sweater! We still have more of this yarn in DK and fingering weight.
